Solar Energy (Photovoltaic) - Collingwood TSC Store

We have installed a 2.34 kW array(12- 195 watt Sanyo HIPBA3 modules) on a single axis Wattsun tracker. It is grid tied, and will offset consumption at the store until we apply for a RESOP contract at which point TSC will be paid 42 cents for every kW that the array produces-expected to be around 3425 kWh a year, first year production.

Solar Hot Air - Collingwood Renewable Energy Resource Room

The SolarSheat 1000G panel heats inside air. The amount of heat produced is based on the volume of air passing through the solar panels and the degree of sunshine. The SolarSheat is a supplemental heating system and it does not work at night. It supplies its own power for the air circulation via a small PV cell therefore no AC electricity is required.

This photograph was taken on the outside of the Collingwood RE Resource Room.  It shows how the SolarSheat panel appears as a window to the casual observer.  The person standing next to the SolarSheat is one of our qualified installers and shows the size of the panel. This picture shows inside the room where the two unfinished (as of yet) ducts appear.  The bottom duct is for the Cold Air intake and the top duct is where the Hot Air flows out of the panel.  These holes measure 6 inches each in diameter.  They are directly opposite the panel in the picture above.
This photo shows the fully installed SolarSheat panel.
Solar Hot Water - Collingwood Renewable Energy Resource Room

The EnerWorks residential solar water heating appliance is a clean, cost-effective solution that uses the sun's energy to heat your water. With 1, 2, 3 and 4 panel systems available to meet your needs, the appliance is attractive, safe, and reliable with minimal maintenance required over its long operational life.  In Collingwood we have installed a single panel system.  It is a demonstration system, but it also actually supplies the staff lunch and washrooms with their hotwater.
This photo shows the functioning Solar Hot Water Panel in place above the Solar Hot Air panel.
